Not too long after I’d sent out the word that our table was booked, Mooira called to say she and some of the girls had decided that we should make a night of it. Being responsible mooothers, we don’t like to party and drive! Mooira did some research and discovered that the Spring into Summer package at African Pride Irene Country Lodge was just up everyone’s farm path! Ten ladies in our group means we can split into groups of two and enjoy this deluxe accommodation, breakfast and dinner (after our scrumptious lunch) at Meadow Green Restaurant and a Camdeboo Day Spa treatment to the value of R250 each. All this for just R1 814 per person per night sharing and we were sold!
As usual, our herds are a little jealous, especially since we are experiencing wonderful Destination Irene treats, so we agreed on arranging a Family Day at African Pride Irene Country Lodge for all. Well, little did I realise that this would have such a snowball effect! We’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that most of the families on the farm are going to join our celebration and the numbers keep growing.
The lovely ladies at African Pride Irene Country Lodge have assured me that they can host up to 1 200 guests with formal seating so as the numbers keep growing, so does our venue! A Family Day is just what our hard-working herd needs. I must say that we are really enjoying putting all the details together - it’s one celebration no one wants to miss!
Being the hostess of the Family Day and with my handsome Bill by my side, obviously we need to look our best. So the day before the big affair, I’ve booked a Summer Glow package for myself and a Hot Rock for Men package for Bill at Camdeboo Day Spa. It’s the perfect start to what promises to be a rocking party.
Spring, silly season festivities and fabulous summer days that continue into the evenings… what more could I ask for?
I’ll be sure to raise my glass to all of you…
'Til next month
