A great way to create effective marketing content is to answer the questions your ideal customers ask. And here’s a trick: Google provides a lot of these — for free. Here’s how to find them: Type your product or service into the search box and scroll down. Often, you’ll find a section under the first few results headlined “People also ask.” If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and look for “Related searches.” Both sections usually contain relevant, popular searches performed by people you want to reach. As an example, I searched “executive coaching;” the results are in the screenshot below. If you’re an executive coach or business coach, all of those questions would be good topics for blog posts, videos, podcast episodes, etc. The “Related searches” box also included “How to prepare for executive coaching,” which is a savvy idea for decision-stage content. You can generate even more ideas by using slightly different terms for your product/service (“executive coach” instead of “executive coaching”), or by adding a couple words to the search (“value of executive coaching” or “executive coaching cost”). Give it a try and let me know if you find a good idea for your business. Happy searching! #contentstrategy #contentmarketingtips #businesscoaching #executivecoaching
Great insight!
This is also the way to identify keywords for YouTube videos! Search for videos on YouTube that have 1,000 views or more in the returned list of videos, and use Tube Buddy to see the keywords those videos used. Use them for your own similar topic video.
Great insight Jon! When you write a post or article using the same phrasing as the questions people are asking, you also increase the changes of your post being presented higher in the search results the next time someone types the question into the search bar.
Jon DeNunzio, this is such an awesome content marketing tip! I had never thought of doing this. In my search, I went down several rabbit holes, but when I surfaced I had some solid ideas for future posts (and urls to use for them to improve SEO). Thank you!
