#Digital technologies and transformation are poised to become the most powerful force for bridging global gaps in #health outcomes, #livelihoods, the #environment, #education, #equity and #inclusion, and other aspects of #civilsociety. While digital solutions alone cannot solve the present and growing challenges, there is clear agreement that #data, digital technologies, and #digitaltransformation are critical enabling factors. We are optimistic seeing the focus on digital being included in recent strategic announcements! For example, The World Bank Bank unveiled recently a performance tracking system with two key indicators, digital connectivity and digital services, that prioritize enhancing digital development to drive positive outcomes. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's 2024-2030 Digital Development Strategy focuses on digital transformation, digital inclusion, digital responsibility, and digital sustainability. NetHope looks forward to partnering with the global community and leaders who believe in the power of digital in our 2024-2030 Strategic Plan: Bridging the New Digital Divides. Today, new digital challenges threaten international NGO mission advancement as organizations are forced to grapple with the widening gap between available resources and growing needs. These new challenges – what NetHope calls the new Digital Divides – represent critical gaps in infrastructure, systems, capabilities, and knowledge. Over the next decade, will lead collective action to bridge the New Digital Divides – #skills and #leadership, #inclusion, #protection, #transformation and #innovation, and #climate #adaptation and #resilience - leveraging our powerful, proven model for advance global good. Learn more about the strategy and contact us today to get involved!

#EarthDay Spotlight. NetHope’s Climate Intersections Program seeks to reduce the impact of climate change on vulnerable people by utilizing digital technologies. There is no question that #climatechange is producing a lasting #humanitarian crisis. It creates both new risks to human development and catastrophic amplification of emergencies. The magnitude and urgency of the climate crisis compels everyone to act to reduce emissions and adapt to a changing climate. At NetHope, we have decided to focus on #digital solutions for adaptation and resilience. We can achieve this through the experience and expertise of our communities of Members and technology partners. With the disastrous potential to erase a large part of a century of humanitarian progress, climate change has become a top priority for our NetHope humanitarian and conservation Members’. There is still time to counteract the worst consequences of climate change if we work together. NetHope launched its climate program, with the generous support of Cisco. Our mission is to leverage the reach of the NetHope community via digital, data and partnerships to help more people thrive in the face of climate change. NetHope humanitarian and conservation NGO Members and their ecosystems, thematic programs, local and marginalized communities and NetHope tech partners are the core of Climate Intersections program. We believe that #collectiveaction is the way to fight this climate crisis, together. https://lnkd.in/gCrbTAxK #climate #adaptation #resilience Jean-Louis Ecochard Gidraf Wachira

According to our partner, Okta nonprofits have one of the highest growth rates across all sectors and in all categories of technology and app deployment. NetHope believes in the power of digital transformation for nonprofits. We see the innovation happening daily, shared through collaboration in our Working Groups and Chapters. Check out more findings from the report linked below.
Each year, Okta anonymizes product data and reports on trends in our annual Businesses at Work report. We recently launched Nonprofits at Work 2024, which shares notable trends from our nonprofit customers and their use of tech's benefits when it comes to productivity, automation, and security. Some key findings: 🚀 Nonprofits have one of the highest growth rates across all sectors and in all categories of technology and app deployment. 🔐 With security remaining top of mind, nonprofits remain focused on protecting against social engineering attacks and, in the face of rising security threats, are doubling down by adopting higher assurance factors such as security keys and biometrics. Nonprofits are the second-most attacked sector and urgently need resources to protect themselves and those they serve from cyber threats. NetHope is proud to have contributed to this effort and have our resources featured. Civil society is critical infrastructure and initiatives like this one provide critical leadership to advance resources to protect those who need it most. We announced a new dedicated High-Risk Communities webpage today with cybersecurity resources for civil society communities at heightened risk of facing digital security threats because of their work. https://go.dhs.gov/JaL Through the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) and building on priorities advanced through the Administration’s Summit for Democracy, CISA developed this valuable resource in collaboration with civil society organizations, government, and private industry partners to support these communities with their cybersecurity. This webpage offers digital security resources specifically for high-risk communities, including Project Upskill, a suite of guides designed to equip non-technical individuals affiliated with high-risk organizations with simple steps to meaningfully improve their cyber hygiene. Other resources on the webpage include information on local cyber volunteer programs, and a repository of free or discounted cybersecurity tools and services available to high-risk communities. https://go.dhs.gov/JaL
