Recently sold at the St. Louis Car Museum is one owner Jaguar XJ-S V12 Coupe finished in a highly desired color combination of Jet Black over Doeskin Leather interior! This beautiful 80s Jaguar example is all original, accident-free, never abused, and complete with factory manuals & keys. In addition to its long list of features, this particular example has only 40,000 miles on the odometer and remains in excellent condition throughout!
Brief History About Jaguar's XJ-S V12 Coupe Model: Jaguar called their XJ-S model “Nimble & powerful, yet eminently civilized,” which could not better explain these sophisticated, sport-touring examples. Design and style were still in the careful hands of Jaguar before becoming under new ownership by Ford who forced a redesign, leaving the earlier models to quickly become quite collectible. The Jaguar XJ-S models superb styling, robust V-12 power plant, road-hugging independent suspension, and luxurious interiors continue to remain timeless today!
Details About Our Jaguar XJ-S Example:
The sold one-owner 1987 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Coupe, seen here, is wonderfully finished in a classic Jet Black exterior with a highly complementary Doeskin Leather interior upholstery. It is important to note that this beautiful 80s Jaguar remains all factory original without modification! This example sold new from Moore Jaguar right here in Manchester, Missouri to it's one and only owner in the fall of 1986. Under the hood of this XJ-S Coupe purrs the mighty 5.3L V-12 engine producing 273 horsepower and 297 lb. ft. of torque, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with a grand touring gear ratio of 2.88:1. Special features enhancing the XJ-S include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, highly polished burled elm wood fascia on the dash fascia & upper door caps, power windows, air conditioning, remote mirrors, AM/FM/Cassette system with power antenna, telescopic steering wheel, automatic speed control, full dash instrumentation, an onboard trip computer, a limited-slip differential, 4-wheel disc brakes, and 15” light alloy wheels wrapped in 215/70R15 Michelin Energy MXV4 tires! This Jaguar sold with only 40,451 actual miles on the odometer. With having only one owner from new, this meticulously kept example is truly in time capsule condition throughout! Virtually no visible wear is apparent on the paint or interior seating material! Included with this special Jaguar is the original owner's manual, 2 keys, original cassette head cleaning kit, matching spare tire with original cover, jack & storage bag, and lug nut wrench! It was serviced regularly by Jaguar all of its life, and most recently had a complete inspection at the St. Louis Car Museum service shop. Our experienced repair team installed a new alternator, exchanged the brake fluid, changed the engine oil & filter, evacuated the air conditioning system & recharged it with refrigerant, and replaced the power steering rack bushings. It remains in excellent, original condition and has never had any paintwork or accident history. All of the factory VIN body panel stickers remain present while the under hood and undercarriage presentations are remarkable!
