Contractual Risk Transfer and Lower Tier Insurance Management

Contractual risk transfer and insurance management are critical aspects of any successful risk management program. This session is designed primarily for contractors who regularly subcontract work and/or engage lower-tier service providers. The discussion will focus on critical issues to consider in properly managing the downstream transfer of risk through indemnification, insurance, and associated risk transfer language contained in subcontracts, trucking, and vendor agreements. Examples of common failures will also be illustrated.

After this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand critical contract language necessary for proper risk transfer and lower-tier entity insurance policy response
  • Recognize common failures in the risk transfer and insurance process and how to eliminate or reduce these types of failures
  • Obtain practical resources and tools to assist in your risk management efforts

Level & Prerequisites
This is a group-internet based program at the Intermediate level. Some knowledge of insurance and sub contracts is needed.
