🌱 Embracing District Heating: A Key to #SustainableCities Development 🏙️ Watch the video to learn more about Anna Hall and Stanisław Zachara share the importance of #DistrictHeating and how collaboration and innovative business models can drive its adoption. District heating offers a scalable and efficient solution to one of the most significant contributors to carbon emissions—space heating and the heating of tap water. In the #EU, a staggering third of energy consumption is dedicated to these purposes, with a staggering 75% of that energy sourced from #fossilfuels. Despite its potential, district heating remains significantly underutilized across Europe, with adoption rates in countries like the UK, France, and Germany lingering at just 2%, 6%, and approximately 10%, respectively. The imperative to #reducecarbonemissions and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels is driving the exploration of alternative heating solutions. Fourth-generation district heating systems, characterized by their efficiency, flexibility, and integration of renewable energy sources, are revolutionizing urban heating landscapes. But the journey towards widespread adoption of district heating systems is not without its challenges. By working together, we can unlock the full potential of district heating and pave the way for a more sustainable urban future. Learn more about district heating: https://lnkd.in/gwriJfqW

Last week Eline Suijlen, Water Industry Manager at Alfa Laval, gained valuable insights at the Global Water Summit held in London, England. According to Global Water Intelligence, if the UN’s 1.5°C target for global warming is missed, the resulting climate change impacts will dramatically threaten global water security. The Global Water Summit gathered 1,000 thought leaders, business executives, investors, engineers, and policymakers. For 2024, the theme was “Security for a Changing Planet”. Topics included water in relation to finance, technology, climate change, security, circular economy, and corporate strategy. Hear Eline Suijlen discuss her key takeaways from this year’s most impactful water event. Even though cities today occupy only 3 percent of the Earth’s land, they account for two-thirds of global energy consumption and 70 percent of CO2 emissions. That is why cultivating #energyefficient cities is crucial for decarbonizing the future and creating a sustainable world.

💧 Pressure on water resources is gaining momentum with the rise in climate change, and it is already beginning to limit food producers’ ability to make food and beverages with a high content of water – such as beer, juices, plant-based drinks, soft drinks, and other beverages. 🍺 To make beer, you need a lot of water. And you need good water. The availability and quality of the water will increasingly dictate where beer will be produced. 💡 For some breweries this is already an existing reality, and for others a consideration in their near to short-term planning. Find out the steps to climate proof your brewery with Alfa Laval Revos Concentration System. Find out more here and join us on June 14: https://lnkd.in/dGvHwhhZ
