The Mission of Mercy, is a two-day Free Dental Clinic that provides dental treatment and education that lasts a lifetime to the patients, volunteers, and community.
The Mission of Mercy, Free Dental Clinic is a nationwide initiative dedicated to providing underserved, underinsured communities with a two-day clinic of completely free dental care and education. In Michigan, this will be the fifth Mission of Mercy, with the first dating back to 2013. Since the first Michigan Mission of Mercy, this program has provided $4 million in free dental care, treated almost 5,000 patients, and has gained the support of 4,621 clinical and community member volunteers.
This year, we are happy to bring the Mission of Mercy to the Dort Financial Center in Flint in order to support efforts to make a difference in the Flint community by improving oral health.
With support from our partners and dental professional volunteers this year, we hope to serve over 2,000 patients in their dental care needs. Along with focusing our efforts on providing dental treatment, we also plan to provide a multitude of community services at the clinic, including vaccinations and community resource tables that are provided by Flint-based community service providers.
